What to wear to Berkleefest? Music Festival Style in Vermont.

What is your summer music festival style?  Do you prefer the carefully crafted looks of Coachella or the effortless "I just got back from running/mountain biking/rock climbing" style? Or maybe you prefer the "I'm with the band" edge?  Music festivals are the perfect place to pick up ideas for looking good during Vermont summers.  High heels and high maintenance are out, just casual elegance with boho and rock vibes.

Although there are many great music festivals in Vermont, this year I have my eyes set on Berkleefest.  Beautiful Stowe scenery at the Topnotch Resort, fresh new indie acts from the Berklee College of Music, craft beer, delicious food, a braid bar and it's FREE if you RSVP here.  (There are two dates, July 26th and August 30th, so be sure to RSVP to both.)

So, if you don't happen to be Alessandra Ambrosio or Vanessa Hudgens and need a little inspiration, here is a sneak peek at the hottest music festival styles for 2014.  Have fun browsing...and see you at Berkleefest!

Coachella is Coming!

Every spring a music festival in California called Coachella rocks the world.  Known almost as much for its fashion as its music, these two weekends provide wardrobe inspiration for the rest of the summer.

Here in Vermont, we are very familiar with music festival style. In the summer we rely on this artsy, casual vibe to make our outfits pop.  That is why, when Coachella time comes around (this year it begins April 12th) I find myself obsessing over every photo.  Because, unlike the street style from NYC or even LA, I can actually wear these styles and feel comfortable.

Here are my style predictions for Coachella 2013, featuring Madison Harding Olivia Cut Out Buckle Boots and blogger Olivia Lopez, lustforlife.com. Enjoy! LSAMSAM

What do I wear to a Vermont wedding?

A Vermont wedding is an experience not to be missed.  But, dressing for one can be daunting.  A little advice, if I may, do not pack your stilettos and cocktail dresses.  Instead, try a sophisticated bohemian look. Think natural colors, beads, a small touch of batik print and sandals (heels optional). This look will take you from the finest inn in Vermont to a backyard potluck with ease. Keep your makeup minimal, the bug spray close and enjoy the beauty and romance that surrounds you. xoxo LSAMSAM

Dear Fringe Bag,

I saw you at Marshall's in Williston last month and we shared a moment.  We walked around the store together, your skin brushing against mine.  It was love at first sight.  But, for some reason, I put you down and left the store.  Maybe I thought I didn't have room for you in my closet.  Maybe I thought your price was too high ($39.99). But now I miss you.  I miss the way you would have looked with my new spring floral dress and the way you would have made any outfit just a touch bohemian with your flirty fringe.  I see it now and I am sorry.  I remember you, tan, supple and luxurious.  Much like the snobby Mulberry bag below.  But, you my dear, were so much better.  With a crossbody strap and dare I say, just a smattering of beading.  Perfection.  May we see each other again, Fringe Bag.  xoxo forever LSAMSAM
